The latest solutions in environmental protection and municipal services, international representation of market leaders, specialist debates, conferences, business meetings and workshops, competitions and interesting exhibitions - all this awaited the participants of the POLEKO 2009 International Trade Fair of Environmental Protection. The 21st edition of the largest show devoted to this sector in Central Eastern Europe was held under the auspices of Prof. Maciej Nowicki, Minister of the Environment.

from A to ZThis year's show was very popular both among Polish and foreign exhibitors. POLEKO included companies from 23 countries: Austria, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine and the USA. The following countries prepared their expositions at POLEKO: Austria, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway and Switzerland.
The exposition was divided into the following sectors:
- Water and Waste Water
- Energy, Renewable Energy
- Waste and Recycling
- Air, Noise and Vibrations
- Climate Change
- Environmental Education.
POLEKO was accompanied, for the second time, by the International Trade Fair of Municipal Technologies KOMTECHNIKA, an opportunity for suppliers of municipal techniques and technologies to meet professionals from local governments responsible for municipal services and representatives of municipal service companies, businesses that provide cleaning services, companies responsible for maintenance of green areas, municipal road maintenance units and cooperatives. One of the most interesting events held during KOMTECHNIKA was the City-Truck-Show - live shows of municipal equipment held on open grounds. POLEKO and KOMTECHNIKA were accompanied by the GMINA Fair of Communes, Cities and Regions, a forum for exchanging information between the public and the private sectors.
In total, 900 exhibitors and represented companies presented their innovative offers for the industry and local governments at that time.
